Jc Rivera Collaborates with Barstool Sports For A Massive New Mural in West Loop, Chicago
Last week Chicago muralist, Jc Rivera, completed one of his largest murals inside the new location for Barstool Sports. The media giant, known for sports journalism mixed with pop culture in a humorous narrative, commissioned Rivera to paint a mural for a new indoor basketball court, located at Barstool’s recently renovated 40,000 square feet office in West Loop, Chicago.
Over the past decade, Rivera’s signature Bear Champ imagery has become one of the most recognizable figures on the streets of Chicago, due to its omnipresence within the city. Since the creation of the character, nearly fifteen years ago, Jc Rivera has collaborated with American Express, Adidas, McDonald's, Capital One, and the list goes on.
What was initially an image of a boxing bear has now become a branding magnet for growing companies and a perfect fit for Barstool Sports, by visually speaking their native language and rolling with the punches. The artist completed the entire project in less than a week.
You can expect to see a lot more work from Jc Rivera in the coming months, as the artist has been planning his next solo show to appear downtown Chicago, early 2024. Stay tuned for updates.
