Meredith Maher
Meredith Maher is a contemporary artist whose work is meticulously constructed from individual puzzle pieces. Her practice began with a simple yet unresolved question: could an image be created from mismatched pieces? When she discovered no clear precedent, curiosity turned into experimentation, forming a singular visual language shaped in part by ideas that first emerged through dreams.
Each artwork is assembled from hundreds of carefully sourced puzzles, requiring months of searching for precise colors and tones during the process of creation. On average, a single piece can take four to five months to complete. Maher views her work as a reflection on memory and time, exploring how fragments of the past are reconstructed in the present and reshaped into new meaning.
