During the spring of 2020, South Side, Chicago artistRoger J. Carterformed a new body of work through relentless experimentation. He gradually built a style that spoke to his personal taste and inspired everyone around him.
Using toy soldiers, the artist began creating captivating portraits of musicians, activists, and writers. More recently, Roger has begun a new series using legos to create customized watches, giving his art a personalized feel.
The soldiers and now legos previously looked at as nothing more than a toy, have took on a new meaning, as part of a greater expression.
