Artist Bio

After finding inspiration amongst a friend dabbling in basic license plate art, Derek Christensen decided to take the idea much further. After some trial and error, he began filling the walls of his apartment with portraits made from recycled plates he cut by hand. When his friends noticed the creations, the demand for his work began to spread.

Since the birth of his style in 2015, the artist has created a long list of collectors and fans throughout the U.S. He now travels to participate in a select group of shows displaying his unique license plate portraits.
