Artist Replete presents EL Toro Bravo (The Brave Bull) by artist Chris Hynes. This piece began with a brake caliper from a Lamborghini. Over the course of creating this sculpture, the artist learned that Ferruccio Lamborghini was so inspired by the strength and resilience of the Spanish fighting bull that he incorporated it into his logo.

On closer observation of this sculpture, there are many subtle details that pay homage to the legacy of Lamborghini. These include idealized “header pipes” in a V-10 configuration with dual exhaust, in a nod to the mechanical engineering that made these rolling works of art famous.

Over the past 12 years the work of artist Chris Hynes has been internationally exhibited and collected. Each piece the artists creates combines the brutality of manmade metal and the perfection of nature. Using metal from scrap yards and molding it with clay, the artist is able to breathe life into his creations. Often times the found parts will spark an idea and guide the interpretation.
