Awakened is the origin of Flor De Maria’s Ethereal Truths series and marks the moment the interior self becomes visible. The figure is rendered with an x ray like transparency, revealing structure, light, and presence beneath the surface. Rather than suggesting fragility, the exposed interior feels calm and resolved, as if clarity has replaced doubt.


The work reflects the transition from self criticism to self awareness. What is uncovered is not damage but understanding, presenting vulnerability as a form of strength. The human form becomes both portrait and mirror.
