In Flow, Vini Meio explores the movement of culture through time. The figure remains calm and whole at the top of the composition, while the body gradually stretches and dissolves into flowing bands of color that cascade toward the ground.
This visual “melting” reflects the tension between the permanence of traditional cultural practices and the forces of globalization that reshape identity over time. Rather than disappearing, ancestral culture continues to transform as it encounters new influences. The flowing composition echoes the rhythm of sound waves, reinforcing Meio’s ongoing exploration of music as both a visual and cultural language.
This piece can be installed by simply leaning it against the wall with a single command strip to prevent movement. The sculpted melted base functions as a natural support system, allowing the artwork to stand securely while maintaining its intended visual effect. No additional hardware is required.
