Artist Replete presents Icon Mk II by artist Chris Hynes. This sculpture began with an old double barrel carburetor from a 1969 Ford Mustang. The artists initial thought was to create a thoroughbred horse, but he wanted to capture an animal unique to North America.
The iconic American Bison came to mind and complemented the spirit of America that people like Henry Ford helped forge. The details in this sculpture include a V-8 header pipe configuration with dual exhaust inspired by the engineering that created the era of muscle cars.
Over the past 12 years the work of artist Chris Hynes has been internationally exhibited and collected. Each piece the artists creates combines the brutality of manmade metal and the perfection of nature. Using metal from scrap yards and molding it with clay, the artist is able to breathe life into his creations. Often times the found parts will spark an idea and guide the interpretation.
