Artist Replete presents "Crane Study" by Detroit artist Michael Keum. The artist's collection is inspired by relief printing, the oldest form of printmaking, which is based on the principle that the parts not to be printed are cut out. While the woodblock is typically the tool to make the print, in this case it becomes the work of art.
In Korean culture the crane is considered as of symbol of longevity, purity, and peace.
