In a medium of work developed in early 2022, artist Roger J. Carter uses computer parts to recreate a young George Floyd portrait. Previously a software engineer, Carter revisits his love for computers, blending it with his profession as an artist.
The artwork is a continuation within his protest inspired series where he highlights rebels in 3 dimensional creations. Scattered throughout the artwork are the phrases like "Hands Up" along with the names of racially profiled victims.
During the spring of 2020, South Side, Chicago artist Roger J. Carter formed a new body of work through relentless experimentation. He gradually built a style that spoke to his personal taste and inspired everyone around him.
Using toy soldiers, the artist has created captivating portraits of musicians, activists and writers. The soldiers, previously looked at as nothing more than a toy, took on a new meaning, as part of a greater expression.
Since his voyage into the world of 3dimensional artwork, the artist now experiments with other mediums like legos, keyboards, and broken records.
