CHICAGO ART GALLERY COLLABORATES WITH TOP LOCAL COMEDIANS FOR A UNIQUE EXHIBITION

 

Two art forms will merge together on April 19th, in an event titled “DON’T TOUCH THE COMEDIANS.” Part comedy show, part art exhibition, attendees will get to experience live stand-up comedy from some of the best local comedians the city of Chicago has to offer. To coincide with the comedic performance, the event will also feature an exhibition of typography by Braxton Fuller

Known for making edgy, humorous artwork, Braxton will be displaying his newest collection of work, which makes light of the common problems people face in their daily lives. The collection reminds its viewers to not take personal mistakes too seriously and to find humor even in negative experiences.

FEATURED COMEDIANS

 

 

CALVIN EVANS is a standup/actor/writer from Chicago. His recent television credits include a recurring role on Comedy Central's SOUTHSIDE, the Fox series APB, NBC's CHICAGO PD, and Showtime's SHAMELESS. He has also performed his standup on the Kevin Hart Comedy Central series HART OF THE CITY and MTV's ACTING OUT.

 

BRAD KOFMAN

 

BRAD KOFMAN is an award-winning comedian, filmmaker, and writer who performs all over the country, sharing the stage with some of comedy’s biggest names. He was a finalist in Kenan Thompson’s nationwide comedy competition in 2019, and is a paid regular at Laugh Factory, along with Zanies, in his origin city of Chicago.

 

JOE EAMES

 

JOE EAMES is a Chicago based comic who is a regular at Zanies and Laugh Factory. He is also the host and co-founder of Chicago’s hottest comedy showcase, “The Humboldt Jungle.”

 

GRACE BAHLER

 

GRACE BAHLER is a satirist and performer based in Chicago. A regular contributor to Reductress, you can find her work on the web and in sharpie on bathroom stalls. Bahler has opened for Ronnie Chieng and performed in various sketch and improv shows.

 

SOHRAB FOROUZESH

 

SOHRAB FOROUZESH is a Chicago based comedian and writer who won't take it personally if you say his name wrong. He moved to the U.S from Iran when he was just eight years old, and his material is heavily influenced by his experiences as a fat Persian kid growing up in America.

 

 

EVENT DETAILS

 

DON’T TOUCH THE COMEDIANS will open on April 19th from 6-9pm at 835 Michigan Ave, Level 2 of The Water Tower Place, inside Artist Replete, where seating is limited to 60 available seats. Early bird tickets to guarantee access to the show are available at a discounted price of $20 per ticket, with a complementary beverage.
