Birds of Good Omen II continues Roco Drilo’s exploration of symbolic creatures and layered narratives drawn from Mexican folk imagery and contemporary graphic culture. Interlocking figures, thorn-like forms, and rhythmic line work create a dense visual field that feels both playful and charged, balancing humor with tension.

 

This Artist’s Proof (P/A – Prueba de Artista) exists outside the standard edition and was reserved from the original print run. Artist’s proofs are typically kept by the artist and represent some of the earliest and highest-quality impressions from the screen, making them especially appealing to collectors.

 

Bold color separations and crisp linework highlight Drilo’s mastery of screen printing, resulting in a striking composition that rewards close viewing while commanding attention from across a room.

Roco Drilo is a self taught visual artist who was born in the city of Queretaro, Mexico. He began his career as a graphic and plastic artist in 2005. The influence found in his work derives from a love of 80’s pop culture, comics books, graffiti, and Mexico. 

 

The artist generates a combination of colors, textures and shapes that evoke the traditional and cultural graphics of Mexican folk art with the added creation of characters blended with visual experiences. 

 

He was is often created using digital illustration, watercolors, enamel, spray paint, and acrylic. Throughout his career thus far he’s participated in various exhibitions, along with cultural projects in Mexico and the U.S.A.
