Lincoln Park Eatery, Mesa Urbana, Will Temporarily Transform Into An Art Gallery This Month
Since September of 2021, Mesa Urbana has been dishing out its contemporary Mexican cuisine, primely located in the neighborhood of Lincoln Park. Co-owned by art aficionado Ash Taleb, the restaurant regularly hangs work from Chicago based talent. Shortly after making its debut last fall, the venue commissioned artist Jenny Vyas to create a Latin inspired mural to add some flair to their lounge (seen above).
Taking things a step further, the restaurant will be collaborating with Artist Replete to temporarily turn their space into an art gallery-like set up. The theme of the exhibition, titled Recycled Romance, will featuring a collection of art inspired by recycled materials, summer love, and heartbreak. Both emerging and renowned artists will have the option to follow one element of the theme or add a combination within their work.
During the event, Mesa Urbana will be offering their full bar, craft cocktails, and food menu available for purchase with options to dine alfresco. Opening night will be held on June 28th from 6-10pm. The exhibition will remain open with its unique layout for two additional days before it returns back to a restaurant aesthetic July 1st. Available artwork will remain on display throughout the following month.
